Ghana will discover their group opponents for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when the official draw takes place today, December 5, in Washington D.C.
The event, scheduled at the Kennedy Center, begins at 19:00 GMT.
The draw marks the first major step in preparations for the tournament that will be jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States, from June 11 to July 18, 2026.
The Black Stars have been seeded in Pot 4 alongside Jordan, Cabo Verde, Curaçao, Haiti, New Zealand, four UEFA play-off winners, and two qualifiers from the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.
According to the draw format, Ghana is expected to be paired with a top-ranked Pot 1 nation such as Brazil, Germany, Spain, Argentina, or England, as well as a Pot 2 side like Croatia, Japan, or long-time rivals Uruguay.
Tournament rules also stipulate that no group may contain more than one African team.
Ghana secured their place at the World Cup by finishing first in Group I with 25 points, ahead of Mali, Madagascar, Chad, the Central African Republic, and Comoros.
