Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has highlighted unity and togetherness as central to the ongoing reforms of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He urged party members to make unity the cornerstone of their efforts, emphasizing that it is essential for the NPP’s long-term success and its ability to regain political power.
Mr. Kufuor made these remarks during an interview on The Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso, aired on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
“Unity is key to the NPP’s future progress. We might not be friends or allies, but because we all believe in the principles and ideals of the party, it is important to unite to push the party,” he said.
He encouraged party faithful to set aside internal divisions and rally behind the NPP’s shared values and principles.
The former President stressed that cohesion within the party is not only vital for electoral victories but also for effective governance.
He explained that the electorate values solidarity and is more likely to entrust leadership to a party that demonstrates unity.
“Ghanaians appreciate unity. We will be able to serve Ghanaians better if we are united to serve them well when we win power,” he added.
The NPP is expected to hold its primaries in January to elect a flagbearer as part of preparations for the 2028 general elections.
