Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito conceded that his team was “tactically indecisive” in their 1-0 narrow defeat to Hohoe United in the Ghana Premier League, on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The Porcupine Warriors fell behind to a first-half free-kick as the 2025 GPL newcomers claimed all three points, intensifying the pressure on Kotoko after yet another disappointing display.
Kotoko’s recent run of results has raised concern, with only one victory in their last five outings – a 2-1 win over Young Apostles on November 19 alongside two defeats and two draws.
Addressing the media in his post-match interview, Zito expressed his frustration over the result.
“I’m disappointed in our first-half performance. I wasn’t happy at all. They had a good free kick and it resulted in a goal. There’s nothing wrong with the free kick, but we didn’t play well.
“To be honest, we were tactically indecisive. We create chances all the time but we don’t score. Most of our training lately has been about goal scoring. Why do we wait until we concede before we start playing?” he questioned and elaborated on poor decision-making.
The former Dreams FC gaffer used the opportunity by apologising to the team’s supporters and assured them of improvements.
“I’m very sorry. I want to apologise to the supporters. We’ll go back to the drawing board and make the necessary amendments.”
This defeat leaves Kotoko under mounting pressure as their inconsistency hampers their pursuit of the league title.
