Faustina Fosu, sister of the late Daddy Lumba, has addressed public claims suggesting that the body laid in state was not that of the musician and has clarified why his face was covered during his burial rites.
Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Faustina Fosu explained that covering Daddy Lumba’s face was a deliberate decision rooted in his personal wishes, as outlined in his final testament.
According to her, the late musician placed a high value on privacy and clearly stated that he did not want his body displayed publicly after his death. She emphasized that the family’s actions were guided by respect for his final request.
“The decision to cover his face was not a mistake, before his death, he made it clear that his face should be covered and not shown to the public,” Faustina remarked.
She further addressed rumors circulating on social media that questioned the identity of the body, dismissing them as false.
“When I saw him, his face was looking very nice. It was him, not what some people were claiming,” she said, refuting allegations that something was wrong.
Faustina also revealed that Daddy Lumba had initially requested not to be laid in public at all. However, the family chose to allow a public viewing to enable family members, friends, and fans to pay their last respects and to prevent unnecessary speculation.
“He didn’t even want to be laid in public like we did, but because people talk a lot, we decided to do it this way,” she added.
The family, she stressed, remained committed to honoring Daddy Lumba’s wishes while balancing public expectations, ensuring that his burial was conducted with dignity and respect.
