Ghana’s Black Stars will face Germany in an international friendly on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart.
The match forms part of preparations for both nations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the highly anticipated fixture on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Reacting to the announcement, Black Stars coach Otto Addo described the test as an excellent opportunity to prepare adequately for Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany are a strong side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart,” he said.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann noted that the encounter will provide his team with valuable insight into what to expect from African opposition in the group stage.
“We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto’s team. Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in the World Cup group match against Ivory Coast,” Nagelsmann said.
The four-time African champions have met Germany three times previously. Their first encounter was a friendly in Bochum in 1993, which Germany won 6–1.
Two further meetings came at the World Cup: in 2010 in South Africa, where Germany prevailed 1–0 in the group stage, and in 2014 in Brazil, where the group-stage clash ended in a thrilling 2–2 draw.
The match in Stuttgart is scheduled for an 8:45 p.m. kickoff on Monday, March 30, 2026.
