The Supreme Court has ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to halt all processes and activities related to the Kpandai parliamentary rerun until a pending case before the court is fully determined.
This directive temporarily stops the EC’s preparations for the rerun election until the legal matters at stake are conclusively addressed.
During Tuesday’s sitting, the highest court adjourned the case to January 13, 2026, to allow further examination of the issues raised by the parties involved.
The Kpandai rerun has become a matter of legal dispute following challenges to the parliamentary election results, leading to the Supreme Court’s intervention.
Following this development, the EC is prohibited from initiating or carrying out any arrangements for the rerun in the constituency until a final judgment is delivered.
