The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has extended its fire safety education activities across several communities and institutions in the Eastern Region ahead of the upcoming christmas festivities.
In statement issued on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Larteh Fire Station conducted a fire safety seminar at Royal Tots Montessori in Amanokrom–Akuapem, equipping staff with knowledge on first aid.
The exercise also includes the evacuation procedures, housekeeping, fire extinguishers and electrical fire safety through both theory and practical illustrations.
In Asamankese, firefighters delivered fire safety education at the Church of Pentecost, James McKeown Revival Centre, focusing on first aid, housekeeping, LPG and electrical fires, and proper use of extinguishers, supported by hands-on practical sessions.
The Mpraeso Fire Station also engaged chiefs and residents of Kwahu Obomeng, and staff of Dumpong Rural Bank, on bushfire prevention, safe gas usage, hazard identification, and the importance of professional electrical wiring.
According to the GNFS, these interactive programmes “enhanced preparedness, strengthened community awareness, and reinforced a strong culture of fire safety” across the targeted areas.
