Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s proposals aimed at addressing the welfare concerns of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members have been warmly embraced by grassroots supporters in the Greater Accra Region.
As part of his national campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia has garnered significant support from NPP delegates.
His welfare policy has been largely welcomed, with delegates recognising the importance of addressing the neglect and inadequate appreciation of party members, especially at the constituency level.
To tackle these issues, Dr. Bawumia has proposed a range of initiatives, including the creation of a local membership database system.
This system aims to ensure inclusive welfare by acknowledging members’ efforts, recording their concerns, and allowing for effective monitoring and resolution.
Additionally, Dr. Bawumia has suggested implementing constituency-based appointments should he become President, which would ensure inclusive representation by providing a minimum of ten appointments for each constituency.
These proposals have resonated well with electoral area coordinators and polling station executives across the Greater Accra Region.
An impressive 445 out of 595 electoral area coordinators have publicly declared their support for Dr. Bawumia, citing his welfare proposal as a key reason for their backing.
“We have realised that your vision for the grassroots is what the party needs. In fact, if the policies you are proposing had been implemented, we don’t think we would have been out of government.”
“Polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and constituency executives have really suffered for this party and we are still sacrificing.
“We welcome your well-thought-through policies which address the welfare of party members, and we believe that by the grace of God, our concerns will be addressed by your proposals after your election,” a spokesperson for the coordinators stated during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign engagements in the Adenta and Madina constituencies.
Dr. Bawumia’s proposals have not only been well received by party delegates and members in the Greater Accra Region but have also resonated with a significant portion of the national membership, who have praised him for offering realistic solutions to their challenges.
