One person has been confirmed dead, and several others have sustained injuries following a violent confrontation between two youth groups in Sankor, Winneba, on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
The report indicates that the cause of the clash remains unclear. The confrontation reportedly escalated into violence, with the youths attacking each other with cutlasses, resulting in serious injuries.
The Winneba Divisional Police Commander, ACP Ibrahim Opoku, confirmed the incident, stating that a number of individuals sustained injuries during the clash.
In response to the incident, police reviewed videos circulating from the scene and arrested several suspects connected to the violence.
The report further revealed that a victim, identified as Excoba, died after suffering multiple machete wounds and gunshot injuries during the confrontation.
Following the incident, police have stepped up security operations in the area, and calm has since been restored to the community.
