FC Samartex captain Kofi Agbesimah is recovering well after suffering a concussion in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash against Medeama SC over the weekend.
He was stretchered off in the first half following a collision with his goalkeeper, sparking concern and leading to an immediate hospital transfer.
The club has confirmed that Agbesimah is in stable condition and responding positively to treatment under close medical supervision.
The match, played at the T&A Park, saw two-time winners Medeama SC survive a spirited Samartex challenge, eventually winning 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Goalkeeper Felix Kyei proved decisive, saving a penalty and then converting the winning kick to secure his side’s passage into the quarterfinals.
The victory strengthens Medeama SC’s pursuit of a domestic double, as they currently sit atop the Ghana Premier League table with 43 points from 21 matches.
