The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has downplay concerns about the call to make the Black Stars’ budget public, describing it a waste of time.
He stated that while he is open to transparency, he questions why the focus is solely on the Black Stars.
“I’m comfortable about making Black stars budget public but why the Black stars,” he said this during his recent interview with Asaase Radio on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
He remarked, “Why are we not asking every sector of the economy, every unit of the economy to make their budget public, Why Black Star?, GFA is a private entity too.”
He added that this creates unnecessary confusion, when there is no need for it.
According to him, there are more important things to focus on, than wasting time on trivial matters.
“We dwell and waste our time sometimes on things which are needless, why do we place a lot of on unimportant things, when real issues issues do exist,” he highlighted.
Mr. Okraku clarified his role, stating “I only advise on the budget; I don’t create, approve, or manage the funds.
