Government has renewed the curfew imposed on Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, effective Thursday, March 26, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, the Ministry announced that the curfew hours, advised by the Bono Regional Security Council and backed by an Executive Instrument, will run from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am each day.
The statement urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, the Youth and residents of the area to remain calm and use non-violent avenues to address challenges confronting the community to collectively safeguard peace in the area.
It further reminded the public that a total ban on the carrying of arms, ammunition and offensive weapons remains in force in Sampa Township.
“Any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,” part of the statement said.
