Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, has called on Old Achimotans, year groups and friends of Achimota School, both in Ghana and abroad, to support the construction of the Achimota Centenary Clinic.
He said the project was an important investment in the health and wellbeing of students and staff, as the school approaches its 100th anniversary.
Dr Debrah made the appeal during the sod-cutting ceremony for the clinic, which brought together the school’s leadership, the GNPC Foundation, parents, Old Achimotans and other distinguished guests.
He noted that with a school community of nearly 10,000 people, the facility would provide a dedicated point of care for students and staff.
The clinic will also be equipped with diagnostic facilities and a pharmacy to extend essential healthcare services to the wider public.
Dr Debrah commended the Old Achimotan Association, the School’s Governing Board, the Parent-Teacher Association and the GNPC Foundation for their commitment and collaboration towards making the project possible.
He urged alumni to move beyond fond memories of the school and contribute towards projects that would benefit future generations.
“As Achimota approaches its centenary, this project offers a powerful reminder that one of the greatest ways to honour an institution that has invested in us is to give back and help secure its future for generations to come,” he said.
The Chief of Staff added that the project was an opportunity for former students and friends of the school to leave a lasting legacy.
He stressed that the responsibility of strengthening the institution rested with those who had benefited from its contribution to their lives.
