The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has confirmed that its indefinite strike will continue on Monday, November 9, 2026, following what it describes as the failure of government and Judicial Service management to respond to its revised demands.
In a statement issued on Sunday, November 8, JUSAG said it has been engaging Judicial Service management and government, in collaboration with the Judicial Service Association of Ghana (SSAJUG), to resolve the concerns of staff.
According to the association, the unions submitted their final demands to government on Thursday, November 5, which they described as the best compromise they could offer to improve staff welfare and restore effective justice delivery.
However, JUSAG said that as of 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, it had received no official response from either government or Judicial Service management.
Consequently, the association has directed all Judicial Service staff to remain on strike until their demands are met.
The directive applies to all staff, including those serving at the Supreme Court.
JUSAG expressed sympathy to members of the public and institutions affected by the industrial action but maintained that the prevailing conditions of its members make it impossible for them to continue working.
The association stressed that staff will only return to work when their demands have been met and they are adequately satisfied and motivated.
