The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, has expressed commitment to building future intellectuals through education initiatives, including the Asuogyaman Science and Maths Quiz Contest.
The 3rd edition of the contest was held at Apeguso SHS.
Schools that participated in the finals were Anum Presbyterian SHS, Akosombo International School and Akwamuman SHS.
Speaking on behalf of the MP, his Special Aide Karim Awudu said Mr. Nyarko is investing heavily in education in the Asuogyaman District.
He noted that the MP has undertaken the construction of educational infrastructure and introduced initiatives aimed at improving learning outcomes for the next generation.
According to him, the focus on Science and Maths will help produce the next engineers, lawyers, doctors and other professionals for Asuogyaman and the country at large, as Science and Maths form the foundation of world technology.
The Akosombohene, Nana Boafo Ansah Prem IV, who was the special guest of honour, applauded the MP and Deputy Finance Minister for his investment in education in the Asuogyaman District.
Elisha Mahi, a student and contestant from Anum Presbyterian SHS, emerged champion of the 3rd edition of the Asuogyaman Science and Maths Quiz Contest. He thanked the MP for the initiative and said they aim to perform at the national level.
