The Supreme Court of Ghana has ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to provide the legal justification for rejecting old voters ID card during the compilation of the new voters register.
A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court, presided over by the Chief Justice, Justice Anin Yeboah offered this ruling while delivering judgement on a suit by the main opposition political party, NDC challenging the upcoming compilation of a new voters register by the EC.
Apart from the Chief Justice, the other members on the panel that will decide the case are Justices Jones Dotse, Paul Baffoe Bonnie, Sule Gbagegbe, Samuel K Marful-Sau, Nene Amegatcher, and Professor Ashie Kotey.
