Gospel musician, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, has asked the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, to stop wasting money on campaigns because, he will still lose the 2020 elections in December.
According to the musician, the Free SHS policy introduced by the Akufo-Addo government needs to be nurtured very well in order to fill all lapses before another government comes to take over.
On that note, he said, Ghanaians will vote Nana Addo back to power to enable him work on making the Free SHS policy better before he leaves power in 2024.
Acheampong said that “human beings don’t need money. What they need are words of encouragement”.
He encouraged pastors not to speak against the policy because he believes the policy is good. He revealed that his reason for supporting NPP is centered on the policy’s ability to help the less privileged.
“I call it the red line because if the government is able to help these children to cross that ‘red line’ they can do whatever they want even if they fail to go to the university,” he stated.
He believes that if Ghanaians ‘do politics’ with this, it will rid the poor of education.
He added that his support for the NPP is not because they have given him something but because of the future of the younger ones.
To him, if he doesn’t get anything today, his children and grandchildren will benefit thus the policy must stay.
“I would have told former President John Mahama not to campaign but that would be impossible so he should not spend much on his campaign because he would not win. Let’s support Nana Addo who dug the foundation for Free SHS to build it well,” he stated.
