It has emerged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as part of efforts to collate its election results accurately and on time contracted the services of a computer wizard from NASA ahead of the 2020 elections.
The officer was tasked by the party to ensure that the NDC collates its results faster than the NPP did in the 2016 elections; however he couldn’t because he was not familiar with the Ghanaian election terrain.
General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu who made this disclosure on Angel 102.9FM’s AnÉ”pa BÉ”foÉ” on Tuesday said he wasn’t shocked the NASA man run away because the election terrain in Ghana is very different from what happens in other countries.
He further revealed that the NPP’s Joe Anokye who they contracted to help with same exercise also nearly ‘run away’ because of how difficult the task of results collation is.
“In 2016, Joe Anokye nearly run away because it’s a very tedious task to collate results in Ghana’s elections…,” he said.
According to him, the NPP after the experience of the 2016 elections were able to collate their figures in a record time during the 2020 elections because they have mastered the act.
He thus urged the NDC to come learn from the NPP if they seek to be good at results collation.
