Fetish priestess now turned Evangelist, Patricia Oduro, also known as Okomfo Agradaa has been sentenced by an a Circuit Court in Accra.

The former fetish priestess was arrested by personnel of the National Security and charged with operating two TV stations without a license and airing charlatanic adverts.

The operation according to Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a post is in line with the government’s efforts to clamp down on media organisations that operate and broadcast unapproved content without a license.

The two TV stations – Thunder TV and Ice1 TV owned by Nana Agradaa were shut down.

Agradaa, after her arrest, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against her and was granted  she was granted self-recognizance GH¢ 500K bail with the condition that she deposits her passport at the court’s registry.

She however changed her plea to guilty upon appearing before the Circuit Court in Accra today.

This led the court to sentence her to a fine of GHC 36,000 or in default serve three years imprisonment.

On count one, which is the charge of operating two TV stations without a license, she was fined GHC 36,000 or in default serve three years in jail.

On count two, which is the airing of charlatanic adverts, she was sentened to GHC 10,000 or in default, serve a one year jail term. The sentences will run concurrently.
