Spokesperson for the National Coordinator for Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has disclosed that Dr. Gertrude Quashigah has saved the state coffers some GH₵27 million under the scheme.
Mawuli Kobla Asamani who made this known on Angel FM’s Anopa Bↄfoↄ morning show said, the money was saved out of audit the office conducted which revealed that days marked as non-cooking days had allocation of funds which resulted in some losses.
“Madam [Dr. Gertrude] saved about GH₵27 million for the government, because non-cooking days and non-cooking activities were not previously declared. So when the funds are allocated they go unaccounted for”, he told the host, Kofi Adoma Nwanwani.
The disclosure was elicited by some allegations a group calling itself National School Feeding Caterers Association has levelled against the Coordinator saying she is incompetent and has allowed payment amounting to some GH₵12 million to be made to some 510 Ghost Schools across the country.
Mr. Asamani having made that known, argued that if Dr. Gertrude was incompetent and lacked managerial skills, the GH₵27 million would not have been saved.
