The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the sudden demise of one General Constable Iddrisu Gafaru who was involved in the Walewale-Bolgatanga road crash while on duty.
The deceased was among some three officers who were airlifted from Tamale to Accra for intensive medical care by the Police Service after sustaining varrying degrees of injury in a ghastly crash that occurred on the Walewale-Bolgatanga highway on October 21, 2021.
However, late General Constable who was in a critical condition with two others passed away early in the morning of Sunday, October, 31, 2021.
This brings the death toll from that incident to three, after two others died on the spot while the five-member Anti-Robbery Task force team was responding to a robbery incident.
According to the Police Service in a statement, the deceased has since been buried in line with Islamic tradition.
Meanwhile, they stressed that two other officers on admission are responding to treatment.
The statement therefore asked Ghanaians to as a matter of support keep remembering the other injured officers in prayers for survival.
