Roads Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta has said he has failed to understand the rationale behind the demonstrations being embarked upon by some people to demand good roads.
During an interaction with the media after inspecting the 31.7km Kwafokrom to Apedwa road in the Eastern Region, which forms part of the Accra-Kumasi dualisation project, the Minister said he is shocked some educated people who are aware of this join demonstrations demanding that their roads be fixed.
“It is unreasonable for anybody to say that all roads everywhere should be fixed simultaneously. So these demonstrations should stop.
“Sometimes you get people who are supposed to know better, well-educated people who should advise their colleagues joining demonstrations,” he retorted.
Most Ghanaians in recent times have been embarking on various demonstrations demnading for their roads to be fixed.
The latest was the one embarked upon by the residents of Madina which was led by their Member of Parliament (MP) demanding for their roads to be fixed.
The MP have since been arraigned before court for leading the demonstration which led to the blocking of major roads.
