The Residents of Assin Akortey No.2 suburb of Assin South District of the Central Region, have been gripped with fear following the bizarre death of a cocoa farmer in the community.

The farmer identified as Kofi Koranteng alias Agenda and believed to be in his 40s, was a resident of Akortey No.2 but hailed from Larteh in the Eastern Region.

The deceased body was discovered on his cocoa farm on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Assin Akortey No2.

Assembly member of the area, Robert Tetteh said they suspects the deceased was murdered by unknown assailants.

Speaking to journalists on the incident he said, “I owed the deceased [Agenda], some amount of money so I went to his house in an attempt to pay him but when I got to his residence he was no where to be found.

“So I decided to check his cocoa farm if I could see him but all of a sudden I started smelling something bad which I became suspicious and later discovered his mortal remains with the skull dislocated and one of his hand also missing,” Mr. Tetteh told Kwame Owusu Asante of Angel News.

Though the cause of the death is unknown, he alleged one Emmanuel Tetteh as a prime suspect because, he had been litigating with the deceased over a piece of land until his demise.

The remains have been deposited at the St. Francis-Xavier Hospital morgue for preservation.

The Assin Fosu District police commander, Chief Superintendent Cephas Arthur confirmed the incident and said a formal investigation has been launched into the matter.

He said forensic analysis will be conducted on the remains to ascertain the cause of the death.
