Suspended Sekondi-Takoradi Mayor’s case adjourned to March 22

The Takoradi Circuit Court ‘A’ has adjourned to March 22, 2022, the case in which the suspended Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Mumim Issah, is alleged to have assaulted a police officer.

The Court presided over by Micheal Kwodjoe Ampadu, gave the prosecution team a week to file their disclosure after listening to arguments from lawyers from both sides.

The lead prosecutor, Superintendent Emmanuel Basantale, pleaded with the court for two weeks to file their disclosure.

Council for the defense, Samuel Abotar, described the case as misdemeanour and said the two weeks was too much.

Mr. Abdul Mumim Issah, was arrested by the Western Regional Police Command on Thursday, February 3, 2022, for allegedly committing motor traffic.

Other offences he is being prosecuted for include, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his duties.

He was granted bail to the tune of GH¢100,000 with three sureties, following his first appearance before the court.
