Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been paired with a Burkina Faso side Rail Club de Kadiogo, in the preliminary round of this season’s CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions will take on the Burkina Faso champions following the draw which was held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at CAF headquarters in Egypt.

Kadiogo notably shocked Kotoko in Kumasi on (5-3) penalties in the 1979 CAF Cup Winners Cup.

The first leg will take place on the weekend of September 9-11, 2022, with the second leg taking place the following weekend.

The winner of the two-legged match will face the winner of Botswana’s Gaborone United or DR Congo’s AS Vita Club in the next round.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has made some additions to their team by securing the services of Ugandan forward, Mukwala Steven Dese and goalkeeper Frederick Asare.
The fabulous has landed in Accra and will start their pre-season training on Wednesday before leaving the shores of Ghana to Turkey to continue preparations on Sunday, August 14th.
