Former Central Regional 1st Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Horace Ekow Ewusi has refuted allegations that he had a hand in the numerous seized excavotors which went missing when it was ceased by the secretariat of the Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).
According to the man seeking to become the party’s parliamentary candidate in the Cape Coast North Constituency, he never had a hand in any of the seizure and the keeping of the excavators despite being a secretary to the committee.
“I am challenging anyone who claims I, Ekow Ewusi had a hand in his missing excavators to come forward and openly accuse me…I am ready to face such accusers…,” he said in an interview in Cape Coast.
A livid Ekow Ewusi who was reacting to the accusations which have been levelled against him for years promised to give up on his vision of becoming the party’s parliamentary candidate if anyone is bold to come out and give face to the accusations.
“I will resign and contest as Parliamentary candidate if you (the interviewer) is able to come forth with just one accuser…,” he said.
Ekow Ewusi’s candidature has received great endorsement from the Cape Coast North delegates of the NPP’s who are poised to vote for him in the polls on Saturday.
The NPP will be organsing polls to elect Parliamentary candidates in Constituencies where the party currently lacks sitting Members of Parliament.
