National Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu has fired a salvo at former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta for his role in an alleged $34.9 million (GH₵538 million) procurement deal for ambulance spare parts.

He stated unequivocally that, this exposé is a serious indictment on the former Finance Minister.

Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa has accused Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta and former Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu of conspiring with a private company, Service Ghana Auto Group Limited to defraud the state.

He explained that, the deal was hastily approved by the Finance Minister five days before his removal from office.

The North MP has since filed his petition on Monday, July 22, 2024, and shared documentary evidence of the transaction in a Facebook post.

In support, Nana Ofori Owusu in an interview on Accra-based Adom FM said the conduct of Ken Ofori-Atta is “criminal”.

“Ken Ofori-Atta should bow his head in shame. You have been caught red-handed. Okudzeto’s exposé is a serious indictment on you and your character. Your wicked ways is becoming too evident. Greed will be your downfall” he fumed.

He questioned the legitimacy of the beneficiary company which was incorporated on April 24, 2020, one year after the ambulances were commissioned in 2019.

This, the PPP Chairman stated raises a lot of doubts about their capacity to service the ambulances.

He stressed the need to trace the people behind Service Ghana Auto Group Limited to ensure values for money.

Nana Ofori Owusu said Ghanaians are ready to die and take anybody looting the state with them.
