The Electoral Commission has approved 13 individuals who have successfully gone through the filing process to contest the presidential election on December 7, 2024.
The only two women who have been cleared to contest are Madam Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and Nana Akosua Frimpomaa who leads the Conversation People’s Party (CPP).
Conspicuously missing is Bernard Mornah, who is said to have expressed the desire to run for president on the ticket of the People’s National Convention (PNC).
Some 25 individuals had initially picked the nomination forms when it opened a couple of weeks ago.
However, a release signed by Deputy Chairman of in Charge of Operations at the EC, Samuel Tettey said only the underlisted individuals successfully returned their forms.
