The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to disrupt the electoral process by attempting to steal ballot boxes.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Appaw-Gyasi emphasized the need for peaceful and orderly elections, urging everyone to cast their votes and then remain vigilant during the counting process.
“I am sending a strong warning to anyone thinking of taking a ballot box during the elections — that person will not make it home,” he cautioned.
He explained that stringent security measures would be in place at polling stations to prevent any electoral malpractices, including ballot box theft.
“If you think you can steal a ballot box and get away with it, you are deceiving yourself. The security personnel on duty will stop you, and you will face the consequences,” he stated firmly.
Appaw-Gyasi urged voters to remain at their polling stations after voting and ensure the process proceeds smoothly. However, he advised against any illegal acts, stressing that security forces would not hesitate to take action against wrongdoers.
“Stay and wait for the counting process, but do not try anything illegal. The security team will handle anyone attempting to disrupt the elections,” he concluded.
