Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has donated GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to the Adum traders affected by the recent devastating fire outbreak on Friday, March 24, 2025.
Dr. Bawumia said the gesture is to support stakeholders in their quest to rebuild the business district, where the inferno ravaged several shops and stalls.
Speaking to the media at the scene Tuesday, March 25, Dr. Bawumia described the incident as a national “disaster” that witnessed valuables being affected, including people’s capital.
“I’m very, very concerned to make sure that we should help them to rebuild as quickly as possible.
“They have said that they want to build this themselves, and I want to support that. I’m making a small donation on my own with GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to add to them,” he stated.
The 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) appealed to the general public to show generosity to the affected victims during this difficult period.
“I’m encouraging companies, individuals, and governments to come and support them because they need help right now,” Dr. Bawumia urged.
