The Ministry of Communications has announced increases in data bundle allocations across all telecommunication networks in the country.
According to the Ministry, the decision takes effect from July 1, 2025.
This development was announced by the sector Minister, Samuel Nartey George, at a media engagement in Accra today, noting that it was made possible after fruitful negotiations with network operators.
“I am pleased to announce that my engagement with the CEOs has resulted in the following specific measures,” he announced.
AirtelTigo Ghana (AT Ghana):
10% increase across all data bundles, meaning the GH₵400 bundle is upgraded from 195GB to 236GB.
Telecel Ghana:
10% increase across all data bundles, as the GH₵400 bundle increases from 90GB to 250GB.
MTN Ghana:
15% increase across all data bundles – restoration of the GH₵399 bundle offering 214GB (previously changed to GH₵350 for 92.88GB).
Mr. George acknowledged the successful outcome of the Ministry’s engagement, although he admitted the impact on the telecom operators.
“I am aware these increases are going to come at considerable cost to the network operators. However, I am glad that our engagements and consultations are bearing fruit for the Ghanaian people,” added Sam George.
He used the opportunity to express the government’s gratitude to the Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) of the various telcos for their collaboration.
“To the CEO’s, you have my gratitude,” the Minister expressed.
