Mahama promises completion of the 17-year-stalled Krofrom and Mamponteng markets by next year.
Speaking during his Thank You Tour at Kumasi Jubilee Park on 16 July 2025, President Mahama stressed that his administration is committed to continuity and results, focusing on finishing projects that have been stalled or delayed for years.
Other projects set for completion under the government’s Big Push agenda include the Suame Interchange, as well as the Afari Military Hospital, the Sewua Regional Hospital, and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital maternity and children’s block.
“We are a government of continuity and results. Projects we will continue and complete in this region include the Kejetia Market Phase II project, and before I came here, I visited the market and I spoke to the contractors, and we are going to accelerate work on it, and by the grace of God, next year, we will be able to go with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and open that market”
“Under the Big Push, we are going to continue the Suame Interchange and complete it. By the grace of God, by next year we will finish the Krofrom and Mamponteng markets”
President Mahama also promised to complete critical health infrastructure in the region.
He mentioned that his government will ensure the Afari Military Hospital and the Sewua Regional Hospital are finished, alongside the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s maternity and children’s blocks, to improve healthcare delivery for residents.
“We will complete the Afari Military Hospital and the Sewua Regional Hospital. We will also complete the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital maternity and the children’s block.”
The President’s assurance comes as residents and traders continue to express concern over the long delays in key infrastructure projects critical to the region’s economy and development.
