Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to demonstrate the lessons they have learnt, stressing that it will be key to regaining the trust of Ghanaians and also reshape the party’s future.
Speaking at the 2025 NPP’s National Delegation Conference, he highlighted the importance of the party’s reorganization, stating that its true purpose goes beyond winning elections to providing better governance for Ghanaians, and that the lessons learnt must be clearly visible.
“We must be consistent in pursuance of our effort to address not just the challenges within but more importantly the challenges that bedevil our motherland.
“We have also learned useful lessons in how to improve some things in the future; we must remain resolute and consistent in doing the right things again and in applying the lessons the next time.”
He continued “We must ensure that Ghanaians genuinely see the lessons we have learnt and are willing to apply next time round; We shouldn’t be shy about them, It is then that our fellow country men and women will give us another opportunity to serve.”
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The former Vice President added that governance is marked by ups and downs, and NPP has navigated both successes and challenges during the tenure of both President John Agyekum Kuffour and Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
That, Dr. Bawumia in his views is confident that the party’s significant accomplishments will be attainable.
