A private legal practitioner and activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has predicted that the incumbent party would lose power in the next general elections.
According to him, opposition lurks at the doorsteps of the NDC due to the bad conduct of some security officers.
To the controversial NDC activist, his assertion is derived from what he described as the “indiscipline” among the security ranks, something he noted he had warned the government over time.
“When the NDC took over power, I warned them to be careful of some of the elements within our security forces. I will repeat it. Their indiscipline will send this Government into opposition. Mark my words,” Oliver Barker-Vormawor wrote on his Facebook wall.
His post comes after some military officers reportedly assaulted a journalist on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Accra.
Meanwhile, the government, in a statement following the incident, ordered the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to commence immediate investigations into the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.
GAF confirmed its ongoing investigations under the directives of the President and assured that it would deal with anyone found guilty.
