President John Dramani Mahama has declared a three-day national mourning period in honor of the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana.
The national mourning period commences today, Friday, October 24, and ends on Sunday, October 26 2025.
A statement issued by the Presidency Communications and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Deputy Minister for the President, Minister, Government Communications, announced.
In the statement, the President directed that all national flags be flown at half-mast across “public buildings, diplomatic missions, and government installations throughout the country and abroad” during the mourning period.
The directive, according to the statement forms part of official arrangements to honor her memory and legacy to the country.
The statement described Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings as a distinguished public figure whose contributions to women’s empowerment, children welfare, and social development left a lasting impact on the nation.
It also conveyed condolences to her family and acknowledged the loss as a moment of national significance.
