The Deputy Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Gibril, has accused the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration under Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of indiscipline in managing the economy.
According to him, the performance of the NPP, especially former Vice President who doubled as Head of the Economic Management Team, Dr. Bawumia was nothing to write home about.
“There was no discipline and respect in managing the economy,” he stated on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, on the Angel Morning Show (AMS).
Mr. Gibril expressed that the NPP’s approach to economic management did not yield the desired results, which culminated in “indiscipline in expenditure” and negatively affected economic growth and stability.
He commended the incumbent government for introducing prudent policies that have contributed to the current economic stability.
He mentioned the implementation of the Gold Board Policy as a key measure in ensuring economic freedom.
“Because of this policy, business in the country no longer struggles,” Mr. Mahdi said further.
