The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has arrested a soldier seen in a viral video assaulting a drug store attendant and a female customer at a pharmacy in Burma Camp on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
According to a press release signed by the Acting Director General of Public Relations of the Ghana Navy, Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the arrest was carried out by Ghana Military Police personnel at dawn.
The soldier is currently assisting with investigations into the incident, and the victims of the assault have received medical attention.
The GAF emphasized in the release that it “will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier engaged in such.”
According to Angelonline.com.gh sources close to the Military High Command, the said soldier is Warrant Officer (WO 1) William Mensah, who is currently attached to Presidency at Jubilee House, Kanda, Accra.
Ironically, one of his victims – the female customer whom he battered multiple times, is said to be a staff member of the Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod) and daughter of a senior military officer.
