The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commiserated with Aduana Football Club following the death of two loyal supporters in a tragic accident over the weekend.
In an official statement, the GFA said it stands in solidarity with the Dormaa-based Premier League club and the wider football community.
“The Football Association extends its deepest condolences to Aduana FC and the entire football community following the tragic loss of two loyal supporters after Sunday’s league match,” it said in a statement.
The incident occurred as fans were returning from Kumasi, where they had travelled to support Aduana FC in their 1–1 draw against Asante Kotoko.
The GFA statement eulogized the departed supporters, indicating that their “passion and dedication to their club will never be forgotten.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the departed, the injured supporters, the players and all Aduana FC fans during this profoundly difficult time.
“The Football Association, together with Premier League clubs, stands firmly in solidarity with Aduana FC as we mourn this heartbreaking loss,” the statement noted.
The GFA prayed for healing, comfort, and strength for the grieving families and a swift recovery for the injured.
A member of the Association’s Executive Council, Frederick Acheampong, has visited two other injured fans currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
“The Football Association remains in close contact with the club’s leadership and will continue to offer all necessary support.”
