The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued 16 people after a head-on collision between a Ford Transit (AS 7172-23) and a Kia Rhino (AS 3058-X) at Nyamebekyere on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway earlier Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
According to reports, firefighters from Bechem Fire Station responded to a 5:38 a.m. emergency call and swiftly extricted the occupants, transporting them to the Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Centre for treatment.

The GNFS further noted that an eight-member rescue team led by STNO II Simon Yeboah carried out the rescue operation.
Report indicates that no fatalities were recorded, although the victims suffered varying degree of injuries.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
