The Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU) expressed appreciation to FIFA President Gianni Infantino for congratulating Ghana on its qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The Union acknowledges Infantino’s recognition of the “colour, style and passion” of the Black Stars supporters, stating that his words are an inspiration.
Ghana sealed its qualification for the Mundial at the Accra Sports Stadium in October, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars finished as Group I winners with 25 points.
Mr. Infantino, in a warm message, acknowledged Ghana’s qualification and congratulated their participation in next year’s global football tournament.
“Congratulations to the Black Stars on reaching the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time in history. Your fans will bring colours, style and passion to teh greatest FIFA World Cup ever in 20226 in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
“We expect that your team will establish more global stars to follow in the footsteps of the famous team that made the quarterfinals of the tournament in South Africa in 2010, but for now, enjoy this special moment, and we cannot wait to see who the Black Stars will face when we have the final tournament draw on the 5th of December. See you very soon and well. Congratulations!” he said in a video clip posted on FIFA’s handles.
GHANSU, in a statement, thanked the FIFA boss for his leadership qualities and was particularly inspired by Infantino’s mention of the “colour, style and passion” of the Black Stars supporters.
“The Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU) extends its sincere appreciation to FIFA President Gianni Infantino for his warm congratulations to Ghana on our qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”
GHANSU stated it will continue to represent Ghana’s football heritage on the global stage and will contribute to a memorable 2026 tournament.
The statement, issued by the Union’s President Abraham Boakye, popularly known as ‘One Man Supporter,’ assured their continued dedication to rallying behind the West African powerhouse globally.
“GHANSU remains committed to proudly representing Ghana’s football heritage and spirit on the global stage.”
Ghana has previously participated in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 World Cups.
