The police have arrested 10 individuals in connection with a disturbing viral video showing the physical harassment and abuse of two young women in Wassa Dawanrong.
The suspects were apprehended by the Inspector-General of Police’s (IGP) Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team in collaboration with the Western Central Police Command.
According to a release issued by the Western Central Regional Police Command on Thursday, November 27, 2025, the suspects are accused of physically harassing and abusing the two women, allegedly over a dispute involving money stolen from a gold buying shop.
Three of the suspects – Eric Donkor (32years), Yaw Guyman (29years), and Edemton Hanney (24years) – were seen in the video cutting through the scalps of the victims with a sharp razor.

One suspect, Tawiah @ Awaga, who was involved in cutting one of the women’s scalps, is currently at large.
Seven other suspects were arrested for aiding and abetting the commission of the offence.

The police futher revealed that the arrested individuals include Stephen Amu (24years), Farouk Balai (18years), Mensah Bernard (18years), Adu Baggeo (23years), Bismark Nyarko (30years), Akwesi Poku George (18years), and Oteng Alfred (23years).
The police statement indicates that the suspects will be screened, and the main culprits will be arraigned before court.
Efforts are underway to locate and assist the victims in obtaining medical treatment, and the Police Administration is working to provide the victims with necessary support.
The Western Central Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands and advised that all arrested persons will be handed over to the police to face due process of the law.
