Special Aide to Dr. Bryan Acheampong and policy analyst, Dr. Michael Kyeremateng, has taken a swipe at some persons for their commentaries on former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s remarks regarding his assessment of Akufo-Addo.
He noted that the statements by Kufuor on the immediate past President were taken out of context.
He clarified that President Kufuor’s observation about the previous administration was not made in a disparaging manner.
He explained that it was presented more as a reflective discussion rather than an attempt to cast the former government in a negative light.
“Kufours comment on the previous government was not in a bad way and was taken out of context. Kufuor’s submission was about the post-COVID-19 period, saying the economy had been strong before the pandemic.,” he stated on Angel TV, on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show on Monday, Mr. Kyeremateng stated that Kufuor’s statement highlighted the fact that the COVID-19 outbreak was a global menace, and that many countries were fully aware of its far-reaching impact.
However, transcriptions of Kufuor’s statement can dilute meaning, and even with careful attention to tone and emphasis, interpretations may differ.
“Listening to somebody and putting what you are hearing on paper is always diluted. At the end of the day, how you pick it and how another person understands it will always lead to misinterpretation, let us not attribute anything to his statement,” Mr. Micheal emphasized.
