The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has officially opened the Keed Ghana Limited (KGL) Eve Medical Centre at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), a new facility to improve mental health services in Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo, and Northern regions.
Speaking at the Launch on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang, noted that the centre includes psychiatric consulting rooms, therapy and counselling units, in-patient wards, pharmacy services, rehabilitation spaces, and administrative offices to provide safe and preventive care.
She further highlighted the facility’s importance for children, students, families, and workers, and noted that it addresses the demand for mental health and integrated medical care.
The Vice President underscored the need to improve healthcare delivery in the midst of changing trends like pandemic, population growth, adding that the government is working to expand access and improve medical training and insurance coverage.
“The Centre is expected to expand access to mental health services in a stigma-free environment. Its potential contributions to research and collaboration with KNUST further highlight the importance of bridging academia and community care,” Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang noted.
