NDC has reset the Judiciary system well, it’s what Ghanaians voted for – Abban

Communications Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Harrison Kojo Abban, has indicated that a significant number of people who once lost confidence in the judiciary during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) era can now have a sigh of relief.

He said this is because the John Dramani Mahama-led administration has reset the judiciary equally.

Speaking on Anopa Bofoo on Thursday, 29 January 2026, he boasted of the development, noting that it was one of the few things Ghanaians voted for the incumbent government.

“At one point, many people chose not to take their issues to court due to lack of trust in the judiciary system. Instead, they sought resolutions elsewhere, which tragically resulted in loss of lives.”

He alleged that the judiciary system under the NPP era was established to primarily serve the interests of a few people, including the former President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

“In cases involving those in power the court tends to defend their interest while average citizens do not receive the same consideration,” he said.

Mr. Nkrumah, however, indicated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), under the good governance of Mr. Mahama, has contributed significantly to the resetting of the judiciary.

He said owing to this, when a case is taken to court and the government is involved, regardless of its fault, the ruling goes against them, unlike what transpired under the NPP administration.
