President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 39th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
President Mahama will lead a number of engagements for the African Union, including discussions on reparations, gender, and financial inclusion. He is also expected to co-host several high-level side events during the Summit.
As part of his engagements, the President will host a breakfast meeting on Saturday focused on the Accra Reset initiative, dubbed “Addis Reckoning.”
He is further scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with other African leaders and heads of multilateral organisations, and to participate in an Italy–Africa Forum.
Also in Addis Ababa is the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, who will attend the Summit of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
President Mahama and the First Lady are expected to return to Accra on Monday, 16 February.
