Ghanaian player Richmond Antwi has said, he has not gone missing following widespread reports that he had gone AWOL from the camp of his club, Baroka FC.
According to Baroka FC chief, Khurishi Mphahlele, “Richmond Antwi has gone missing from his camp after failing to live up to expectation during his trials last month but his outfit will not stress themselves over his hideout as his service is no longer required by them”.
However, speaking to on the ‘Floodlight Sports’ on Angel 102.9 FM Wednesday, Antwi clarified his whereabouts and the situation that led to the earlier publications.
According to the former Al-Merrikh player, FC Baroka did not treat him fairly after arrival at the club.
“I am not missing Baroka FC are very dishonest. I didn’t go to South Africa for trials.I came here to sign a contract with FC Baroka,” he told host of the show, Saddick Adams.
He lamented that “After my arrival, the club didn’t fulfill their end of the contract by signing me, that is why I left the club’s residence.
“They continuously postponed the day they will officially sign me. My agent got fed up with this unfair treatment. I am currently with my agent at Johannesburg. My family members know I am not hiding,” he said.
Baroka F.C. plays in South Africa’s DSTV Premiership.
