The National Communications Authority (NCA) has shut down a total of 49 Television (TV) stations for operating without license.
The NCE in a statement copied to Angelonline.com.gh mentioned that the decision to shut down the TV stations operating without licenses.
“This forms part of a continuous monitoring exercise conducted on various satellite free-to-air television platforms using the Broadcast Monitoring System (BMS) and the Radio Spectrum Monitoring System (RSMS).”
According to the statement, the monitoring exercise revealed that some television channels in the country were operating without valid authorisations from the NCA.
“As a result, 49 channels have been identified to be operating without valid authorisations from the Authority and is being shut down accordingly,” the statement added.
