Brighton and Hove Albion right back, Tariq Lamptey, Southampton FC’s Mohammed Salisu, and Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams have been given their maiden call-ups in the Black Stars 29-man squad.
The squad named by Coach Otto Addo for the stars’ upcoming International friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua also included new debutant Stephan Ambrosius of Karlsruher SC.
Ghana will play two matches in September as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals scheduled for November-December.
They face Brazil on Friday, September 23, at Stade Oceane in Le Harve- France before taking on Nicaragua at Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Lorca, Spain on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, and Stephan Ambrosius whose nationality switch to play for Ghana became imminent some months ago received their first call-ups into the Black Stars.
Meanwhile, goalkeepers, Richard Ofori, Joseph Aidoo, and Antoine Semenyo returned to the team after missing out on the Kirin Cup Tournament against Japan and Chile in June 2022.
Accra Hearts of Oak kingpin, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, was handed another call-up to become the only home-based player in the squad.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey who is currently injured has also been included in the squad for the two friendlies despite being sidelined.
