Customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), across some parts of the country are facing challenges in purchasing prepaid with the prepaid system from the power distribution company.
The challenge which was encountered by customers in the Ashanti Region, Volta, Eastern, and Central Region begun Thursday, September 29, 2022.
As a result, some customers in the Kumasi, Accra, Takoradi, Tema, Cape Coast, Kasoa, Winneba, Swedru, Koforidua, Nkawkaw, and Akim Tafo have all been affected.
The ECG in a public notice said the situation due to a “technical challenge which has affected our prepaid metering systems, purchase of electricity credit has been interrupted.”
ECG is therefore apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the technical challenge and said its ICT team is working assiduously to correct the anomaly and restore the system to normalcy.
