The Presidential candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai, popularly known as Odike said has called on Ghanaians to reconsider voting for a new party and new face other than the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) if they want to see the country develop.
Speaking on Angel Morning show hosted by Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah on Monday, September 18, 2023 said the time is up for Ghanaian voters to do a self introspection and and choose a new leader from a different political party to manage Ghana.
“Ghanaians must sit down and have a national introspection in choosing their leaders because the two leading political parties have the mindset that one of them will take the presidential seat so they take advantage of Ghanaians when they come to power,” he said.
The business man opined that the country’s progress in various sectors have retarded due to the extreme partisanship and this has made Ghana a difficult place to live in.
“Nana Addo has made it more than evident that the constitution gives the president ultimate powers and if we do not get a person who thinks about the country, he will use it anyhow and get away with it,” he said.
Odike further called on Ghanaian voters to reject John Mahama in 2024 since he has so far not proferred any solutions to the country’s problems.
